A logistics QR code is a scannable entry point to a warehouse, carrier, maintenance, or product-information workflow. It does not replace a WMS, TMS, carrier, proof-of-delivery, maintenance, or traceability system.

Design the identifier before generating the image

Decide what one physical object represents before assigning a code. A bin, pallet, shipment, asset, and product identity are different records. Reusing one code across objects removes that distinction and can make scan history ambiguous.

Choose a stable internal identifier and keep mutable facts, such as quantity, location, custody, temperature, and status, in the responsible operational system. The QR should open the record or action, not become an unofficial copy of that record.

Bulk dynamic creation has plan and capacity limits

QRLynx bulk dynamic creation accepts a CSV with required name and url columns. Pro supports up to 100 codes per batch and 5 batches per month. Business supports up to 250 per batch and 10 batches per month. Enterprise supports up to 1,000 per batch with no fixed monthly batch limit. Each batch also has to fit within the account's active dynamic-code capacity.

The completed batch downloads as a ZIP of SVG files. Pilot a representative set first so naming, destinations, permissions, labels, and reader behavior are correct before generating the full batch.

For a smaller pilot, the free Starter plan includes 5 active dynamic codes, unlimited static codes, unlimited scans, and 3 months of analytics. Starter+ increases active capacity to 50 codes. Pro increases it to 300 and adds the dynamic bulk workflow described above.

GS1 Digital Link expresses supported GS1 identifiers and qualifiers in an HTTPS URI. QRLynx supports URI generation and resolution for its implemented identifiers, including GTIN and SSCC. The identifier must already be correctly assigned. QRLynx does not issue GS1 identifiers, certify a label, or guarantee acceptance by a retailer, carrier, regulator, or trading partner.

GS1 Ambition 2027 is a goal for retail point-of-sale systems to read and process a defined set of 2D barcodes with GS1 standards by the end of 2027, alongside existing linear barcodes. It is not a universal deadline to remove every UPC or EAN symbol. Confirm the carrier, Application Identifiers, data quality, and receiving workflow with each partner.

Treat scan activity as access data, not operational proof

QRLynx analytics can show eligible scans of a dynamic QR code. A scan does not by itself prove that stock moved, a worker completed a check, a carrier accepted custody, a delivery occurred, a temperature stayed within range, or a repair was performed.

Use the event recorded by the WMS, carrier, delivery, sensor, or maintenance system when the business needs evidence of the outcome. A scan can help explain how often a label was opened, but it should not be promoted into a transaction that another system must validate.

Label performance depends on payload density, symbol size, quiet zone, contrast, print resolution, material, adhesive, surface, lighting, distance, damage, and the reader fleet. Preserve a clear four-module quiet zone, use strong contrast, and test the final artwork at actual size.

Run the pilot on the real stock and surface with the phones and 2D imagers used on the floor. Include the longest expected distance, low light, glare, protective cases, dirty labels, cold or damp areas, and network restrictions. Do not place a new label over required warnings, serial plates, controls, or regulated carrier markings.

Can QR codes manage warehouse inventory?

A QR can open the correct item, bin, pallet, or count workflow. The WMS or inventory system should validate and store quantity, location, and status changes.

Should a warehouse replace its linear barcodes?

Not automatically. Keep the carriers required by installed readers and trading partners. Add QR Codes where a phone-readable web link, mobile form, or supported 2D data workflow solves a defined task.

Can a QR code prove delivery or chain of custody?

A scan alone does not prove delivery or custody. Link the code to the approved workflow, then rely on the carrier, delivery, signature, or custody record that validates and stores the event.

Can QRLynx create QR codes in bulk?

Yes, for plans with dynamic bulk access. Pro supports 100 codes per batch and 5 batches per month, Business supports 250 and 10, and Enterprise supports 1,000 with no fixed monthly batch limit. Active dynamic-code capacity still applies.

Does QRLynx assign GTINs or SSCCs?

No. QRLynx can generate and resolve supported GS1 Digital Link URIs from identifiers you provide. The responsible organization must obtain and manage its identifiers through the applicable GS1 process.

Can a dynamic code change the identity of a GS1 item?

No. For a saved dynamic QRLynx GS1 code, the printed identity and configured qualifiers remain fixed. Approved web destinations can be managed within the supported GS1 workflow.

Can workers scan warehouse QR codes with phones?

Compatible smartphone cameras can open standard QR payloads. Dedicated devices need a 2D imager and software that accepts the payload. Test permissions, cases, lighting, network access, and the worker interaction during the pilot.

What does QRLynx scan history show?

It shows eligible redirect activity for a dynamic QRLynx code. It does not establish inventory movement, delivery, custody, task completion, equipment condition, or sensor readings.

How should damaged warehouse labels be handled?

Use label material and adhesive suited to the surface and environment, then define an authorized replacement process. Verify that the replacement keeps the correct identifier and does not create two active labels for different objects.
