How do I create my first QR code?

Creating your first QR code is simple! Just visit our homepage, select the type of QR code you want (URL, text, email, etc.), enter your content, customize the design if desired, and click generate. You can download your QR code immediately or save it to your account for tracking.

Do I need an account to use QRLynx?

You can create basic static QR codes without an account, but creating a free account unlocks powerful features like 1 dynamic QR code, analytics tracking (14 days), custom designs, and the ability to save and manage your QR codes.

What types of QR codes can I create?

QRLynx supports 40+ QR code types: URL, WiFi, vCard, text, email, phone, SMS, calendar, location, app store links, PDF files, social media profiles, and more. All QR codes can be customized with colors, patterns, corner styles, and logos.

What is the difference between Static and Dynamic QR codes?

Static codes have a fixed URL embedded in the pattern and can't be changed after creation. Dynamic codes use a short URL to redirect to your destination, allowing you to change the link anytime (even after printing), track scan analytics, and add expiry rules. Dynamic codes are also smaller and scan faster.

Do your QR codes expire?

No! Your QR codes never expire. Static QR codes work forever with no time limit. Dynamic QR codes (including the free one on the Starter plan) also work indefinitely as long as your account remains active. We believe your QR codes should keep working — that's why we don't impose expiration dates.

Can I generate QR codes in bulk?

Yes! Business plan users can generate QR codes in bulk using our Bulk QR Code Generator. Upload a CSV file with your data (URLs, vCard info, etc.) and create up to 100 unique QR codes at once. Perfect for product packaging, event badges, inventory tracking, and large marketing campaigns.

Can I convert a static QR code to a dynamic one?

No, you cannot convert an existing static QR code to dynamic. Static codes embed the destination URL directly into the pattern, while dynamic codes use a short redirect URL. If you need to update a destination later, we recommend creating a dynamic QR code from the start — even the free Starter plan includes 1 dynamic code for this purpose.

Yes! The Starter plan is 100% free forever and includes unlimited static QR codes, 1 dynamic QR code, 1,000 scans/month, and 14-day analytics. Upgrade to Pro ($7/month) for 50 dynamic codes, 25,000 scans, and unbranded downloads, or try Pro free for 14 days with no credit card required.

Is there a free trial for premium features?

Yes! You can try the Pro or Business plan free for 14 days to access advanced features like Smart Redirects, Bulk Creation, and White-labeling. No credit card is required to start your trial.

Is there a limit on how many times my QR code can be scanned?

Each plan has a monthly scan allowance: Starter (free) gets 1,000 scans/month, Pro gets 25,000, and Business gets 250,000. These are soft limits — if you exceed them, your QR codes continue to work normally. We may reach out to discuss upgrading if you consistently exceed your limit, but we won't block your scans.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) and debit cards through our secure payment processor, Stripe. All transactions are encrypted and PCI-compliant for your security.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Absolutely! You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Your paid features will remain active until the end of your current billing period, after which you'll be moved to the free plan.

Do you offer refunds?

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for annual subscriptions. Monthly subscriptions are generally non-refundable, but we'll consider refunds on a case-by-case basis for exceptional circumstances. Contact our support team for assistance.

What happens if my payment fails?

If a payment fails, we'll retry the charge and send you email notifications. You'll have a grace period to update your payment method. If payment isn't resolved, your account will be downgraded to the free plan, but your data will be preserved.

Can I customize the design of my QR codes?

Yes! Our platform offers extensive customization options including colors, patterns, logos, frames, and different QR code styles. You can match your brand colors, add your logo, and choose from various design templates.

Can I add a logo to my QR code?

Yes! All plans support adding custom logos to your QR codes. Pro and Business users get unbranded downloads (no QRLynx watermark). Upload any image as your logo, and QRLynx will automatically position it in the center while maintaining scannability.

Can I track QR code scans?

Yes! All plans include scan analytics. Free users get 14-day scan history. Pro users get 30-day analytics with country location data. Business users get 60-day advanced analytics including city-level location, device types, operating systems, browsers, and CSV export for detailed reporting.

Can I change the QR code destination after printing?

Yes! With Dynamic QR codes (available on all plans including free), you can change the target URL instantly without reprinting the code. This is perfect for correcting mistakes, updating campaigns, or refreshing legacy marketing materials.

What file formats can I download?

All plans support PNG, JPG, and WebP downloads. Pro and Business users also get high-quality SVG (vector) and PDF formats, which are ideal for large-scale professional printing. All formats support transparent backgrounds.

What features does the Business plan offer?

The Business plan is designed for teams and agencies. It includes 250 Dynamic codes, Smart Redirect Rules (route by device/country/time), Lead Gen Forms, Password Protection, Custom Domains, and CSV Data Exports.

Technical Support

My QR code isn't scanning properly. What should I do?

If your QR code isn't scanning, try these tips: (1) Ensure sufficient contrast between the code and background — dark pattern on light background works best. (2) Make sure the code is at least 2cm x 2cm (0.8 inches) for close-range scanning. (3) Avoid placing the code on curved or reflective surfaces. (4) Test with multiple devices as some older cameras struggle with highly customized designs. If issues persist, contact our support team.

What's the minimum size for printing QR codes?

For optimal scanning, QR codes should be at least 2cm x 2cm (0.8 x 0.8 inches) when printed. However, the ideal size depends on the scanning distance and amount of data encoded. More complex QR codes may need to be larger.

Which QR code scanner apps work best?

Most modern smartphones have built-in QR code scanning in their camera apps. Popular third-party apps include QR Code Reader, Barcode Scanner, and Google Lens. Our QR codes are compatible with all standard QR code readers.

Can I use QR codes offline?

Static QR codes work completely offline once generated. Dynamic QR codes require an internet connection to redirect to the final destination. The QR code itself can be scanned offline, but accessing the content may require connectivity.

What's the maximum size for QR code content?

QR codes can technically hold up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters, but we recommend keeping content concise for better scanning reliability. For longer content, consider using dynamic QR codes that redirect to a webpage.

Account & Authentication

How do I sign up for an account?

You can sign up using our convenient social login options with Google. Simply click 'Sign Up' and choose your Google account. All authentication is secure and encrypted.

Can I sign in with Google?

Yes! We use Google OAuth authentication. This provides a secure, convenient way to access your account without remembering another password. Your data remains private and secure.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Since we use Google Sign-In, your account security is managed by Google. If you need to reset your password, please do so through your Google Account settings.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from your account settings page. Please note that this action is permanent and will remove all your QR codes, analytics data, and account information. Consider downloading your data first if needed.

How do you protect my data?

Can other people see my QR code analytics?

No, your QR code analytics are completely private and only visible to you when logged into your account. We never share individual user data or analytics with third parties.

Do you store the content of my QR codes?

For static QR codes, content is only stored temporarily during generation. For dynamic QR codes, we store the destination URL to enable redirects and analytics. All data is encrypted and securely stored.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

When you delete your account, all your personal data, QR codes, and analytics are permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. This action cannot be undone, so please download any important data first.

Is QRLynx GDPR compliant?

Yes. We take data privacy seriously. We are fully GDPR compliant, store data securely, and offer features like password protection and sensitive content warnings for compliance.
