Getting Started

What is QRLynx?

QRLynx is a free QR code generator with unlimited scans, real-time analytics, and AI Insights. Built and operated by Jorbox LLC — the independent software company behind QRLynx. Supports 49 QR code types (URLs, WiFi, vCards, PDFs, payments, social media, and more). Create unlimited static QR codes without an account, plus 5 free dynamic QR codes you can edit anytime without reprinting. Static QR codes never expire; dynamic QR codes never expire and have unlimited, uncapped scans.

How do I create my first QR code?

Creating a QR code takes under 30 seconds and no account is required. Visit QRLynx.com, pick one of the 49 QR types (URL, WiFi, vCard, PDF, etc.), enter your content, customize colors and style, then click Download. Static QR codes work immediately. Create a free account to unlock 5 active dynamic QR codes, 90-day scan analytics, and saved dashboards.

Do I need an account to use QRLynx?

No. You can generate, customize, and download static QR codes without creating an account — no watermark required. A free account unlocks 5 active dynamic QR codes (editable after printing), 90-day scan analytics, saved dashboards, and AI Insight Summaries. Sign up in under 10 seconds with Google, Apple, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or a magic-link email.

What types of QR codes can I create?

QRLynx supports 49 QR code types across a broad free toolkit, alongside six no-signup companion tools. Categories: web (URL, short link, PDF), contact (vCard, Digital Business Card, email, phone, SMS), network (WiFi, hidden SSID), social (Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Spotify, and 10 more), payment (PayPal, Venmo, UPI, Pix, Bitcoin), events (calendar, location), and link-in-bio pages. Every type supports custom colors, logos, and design templates.

What is the difference between Static and Dynamic QR codes?

A static QR code has the destination URL baked directly into the QR pattern — permanent, server-independent, works forever, but can't be edited after printing. A dynamic QR code encodes a short redirect URL instead, letting you change the destination anytime, track scans with location/device analytics, and add rules like password protection or expiry. Both are defined in the ISO/IEC 18004 standard.

Do your QR codes expire?

Static QR codes never expire. Dynamic QR codes keep stable short links and never expire on every plan. A dynamic code only pauses, never deleted, if you downgrade from a paid plan over your limit, and upgrading restores it. See how QRLynx compares.

Can I generate QR codes in bulk?

Yes. Upload a CSV file of URLs, vCard data, or any supported payload and generate unique QR codes in one batch. Business plan ($29/mo) creates up to 250 QR codes per batch; Enterprise ($99/mo) creates up to 1,000 per batch. Ideal for product packaging, event badges, inventory tagging, and large marketing campaigns. Includes live preview, shared design template, and per-code slug control.

Can I convert a static QR code to a dynamic one?

No. A static QR code has the destination URL physically encoded in its pattern — there's no indirection layer to redirect from. If you may want to change the destination later, create a dynamic QR code from the start. Every free Starter account includes 5 active dynamic codes, so you don't need to pay to get editability.

Choosing a QR Platform

Which QR code generator is best for a restaurant menu?

For menus, the deciding feature is how the PDF is served. QRLynx serves menu PDFs directly — no interstitial page, no branding stamped on your document — and a dynamic code lets you replace this week's menu without reprinting table tents. Upload limits run from 5 MB free to 50 MB on Enterprise. If your menu is a webpage rather than a PDF, a standard URL QR code with scan tracking does the same job.

What is the best free QR code generator with scan tracking?

QRLynx's free Starter plan includes 5 dynamic QR codes with unlimited scans and 90-day scan analytics — scan counts, time-of-scan charts, and a recent-scan activity feed — with no watermark and no card required. Country breakdowns unlock on Pro; city, device, and browser breakdowns on Business. For raw free dynamic-code count, QRCodeChimp offers 10 — but caps scans at 1,000 per month total. If you only need fixed destinations, static codes are unlimited and free.

Which QR platform should a team or agency use?

QRLynx Business ($29/month) covers most teams: 10 members, bulk generation at 250 codes per batch, lead forms, and CSV export. Agencies needing white-label and custom domains step up to Enterprise. Two honest exceptions: enterprises requiring SSO and compliance certifications are better served by Uniqode, and API-driven workflows fit QR Tiger — QRLynx has no public developer API today.

When is QRLynx not the right tool?

Three cases, honestly: you need a public developer API (QRLynx does not offer one today — QR Tiger does); you need SSO for enterprise identity management (not offered yet); or you generate codes inside a design suite you already live in — Canva's built-in generator is static-only but sits where designers work. For everything else — tracking, editing after print, menus, business cards — the free plan is the fastest way to find out.

Pricing & Billing

Is QRLynx free to use?

Yes — the Starter plan is free forever with no credit card. It includes 5 dynamic QR codes, unlimited static codes, unlimited scans, and 90-day scan analytics. Paid plans: Starter+ ($7/mo) 50 dynamic codes + Full AI Insights, Pro ($14/mo) 300 dynamic, Business ($29/mo) 1,000 dynamic + team workspaces + bulk, Enterprise ($99/mo) 5,000 dynamic + white-label. No credit card is required on Starter; upgrade only when you need more capacity or Pro controls.

What premium features are available?

Paid plans unlock advanced features on top of more dynamic QR capacity. Starter+ adds SVG/PDF vector downloads and more capacity (50 dynamic QRs, 10 folders, 10 MB per PDF). Pro ($14) adds smart redirect rules, password protection. Business ($29) adds team workspaces with role-based access, bulk QR generation (250/batch), and lead capture forms. Enterprise ($99) adds custom domains, white-label branding, 1,000/batch bulk, and 100-seat teams.

Is there a limit on how many times my QR code can be scanned?

No — every QRLynx plan includes unlimited QR code scans. Free and paid, static and dynamic. There are no plan-based monthly caps or overage fees. Traffic may only be limited to block abuse or malicious activity. This is rare in the industry: QR Tiger, Bitly, and most competitors either cap scans or show popup ads on free scans. QRLynx doesn't. See the scan-limit comparison.

Can I use QRLynx for commercial or business use?

Yes — every plan, including the free Starter, permits commercial use with no royalties. Print your QR codes on product packaging, marketing materials, business cards, billboards, or merchandise. There are no usage fees, scan fees, or licensing restrictions. Volume-sensitive customers typically choose Business ($29/mo) for bulk generation and team workspaces.

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) plus Apple Pay and Google Pay through our payment processor, Stripe. All transactions are encrypted and PCI DSS Level 1 compliant. We never see or store your card details.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes — cancel anytime from your account settings, no phone calls or retention offers. Your paid features remain active until the end of your current billing period, after which your account moves to the free Starter plan. Static QR codes never expire. Dynamic QR codes keep stable short links and never expire on every plan.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes — 30-day money-back guarantee on annual subscriptions. Starter is free forever with no card required, so you can create QR codes before paying anything. Monthly subscriptions are prorated, not refunded, but we handle exceptional circumstances case-by-case — contact support.

What happens if my payment fails?

Your account stays active during a grace period while we retry the charge. You'll receive email notifications to update your payment method. If payment can't be resolved after multiple retries, your account is downgraded to the free Starter plan — your QR codes, analytics, and data are fully preserved, never deleted.

QR Code Features

Can I customize the design of my QR codes?

Yes — colors, patterns, corner styles, frames, and design templates, all available without an account. Match your brand colors, pick from dozens of dot styles, or use one of our themed templates. Free tier includes all visual customization; logo upload is available on Starter (free) and above. Every registered user gets unbranded downloads — no QRLynx watermark.

Can I add a logo to my QR code?

Yes — custom logo upload is available on Starter (free) and above. Upload any image and QRLynx automatically centers it while boosting the error correction to level H (30%) so the code still scans reliably with the logo overlay. Design customization (colors, styles, patterns) is free for everyone; all registered users get unbranded downloads with no QRLynx watermark. Full guide: QR Code with Logo Tutorial.

Can I track QR code scans?

Yes — every plan includes scan analytics plus AI Insights. Starter & Starter+: 90-day scan analytics, scan counts, timing, AI Insights summaries. Pro: 90-day scan history, country analytics, Full AI Insights, and manual refresh. Business & Enterprise: 90-day history, city-level location, CSV export, and deeper AI pattern detection. Every scan is tracked in real time with a fast Cloudflare-backed redirect routing.

Can I change the QR code destination after printing?

Yes — with a dynamic QR code, change the destination anytime from your dashboard and every printed code instantly points to the new URL. Every free Starter account includes 5 active dynamic codes. Perfect for correcting typos, rotating seasonal menus, reusing printed codes across campaigns, or A/B testing landing pages. The QR pattern itself never changes — only the destination behind it.

What file formats can I download?

PNG, JPG, and WebP on every plan (including free). Starter+ and above add high-quality SVG (vector) and PDF — ideal for large-scale professional printing where pixel-perfect scaling matters (billboards, packaging dies, vinyl signage). All formats support transparent backgrounds.

What features does the Business plan offer?

Business ($29/mo) is built for teams and agencies. Includes 1,000 dynamic QR codes, team workspaces with role-based access (10 seats), bulk QR generation (250 per batch), everything in Pro, lead capture forms, email scan summaries, 90-day analytics with city, device, and browser details, CSV export, and Full AI Insights. Enterprise adds white-label custom domains, retargeting, 1,000/batch bulk, and 100-seat teams. Full feature breakdown on the pricing page.

Technical Support

My QR code isn't scanning properly. What should I do?

Most scanning failures trace to one of four causes: (1) Insufficient contrast — use dark pattern on light background, minimum 4:1 contrast ratio. (2) Missing quiet zone — the ISO spec requires at least 4 modules of blank space around the code. (3) Undersized print — use at least 0.8 inch (2 cm) for close-range. (4) Curved or reflective surfaces. Full troubleshooting: QR code not working — fixes.

What's the minimum size for printing QR codes?

Minimum 0.8 inch (2 cm × 2 cm) for close-range scanning under 12 inches. The rule of thumb: code size should be at least 1/10th of the intended scan distance. 10 feet away = 14 inch code. Complex QR payloads (vCards, long URLs) need to be larger because they have more modules. Full size guide with 12 real-world print scenarios: Minimum QR Code Size for Print.

Which QR code scanner apps work best?

The native camera app on iOS (11+) and Android (9+) scans QR codes out of the box — no third-party app needed. Google Lens and the default Samsung camera also work flawlessly. QRLynx codes are fully ISO/IEC 18004-compliant, so any standards-conformant scanner works. You can also scan any QR code with our free in-browser QR scanner.

How long does it take to generate a QR code on QRLynx?

Under 1 second. QRLynx generates and previews your QR code in real time as you type — color changes, logo additions, and content edits render instantly. Download is immediate (PNG, JPG, WebP) with no rendering delay. No email verification, no queue, no wait.

Can I use QR codes offline?

Static QR codes work completely offline — the destination URL is encoded directly in the pattern, so the phone reads it without any server lookup. Dynamic QR codes require a brief internet connection to resolve the short redirect to its current destination (through Cloudflare's global network). The QR pattern itself scans offline; only the redirect step needs connectivity.

What's the maximum size for QR code content?

Up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 2,953 bytes per QR code, at the largest Version 40 size (177 × 177 modules). In practice, anything past ~120 characters makes the code visually dense and hard to scan at small print sizes. For long URLs, always use a dynamic QR code — it encodes a 20-character short URL that redirects to any length of destination. See Data Capacity for full limits.

Do QR codes work internationally?

Yes — QR codes are an ISO/IEC 18004 international standard and scan identically in every country. QRLynx codes resolve through our Cloudflare global network for fast, reliable redirects worldwide. Unicode content (Arabic, Chinese, Kanji) is fully supported. Payment QR types are region-specific: Pix works only in Brazil, UPI only in India, Venmo only in the US.

Account & Authentication

How do I sign up for an account?

Signup takes under 10 seconds. Click Sign Up and choose one of four methods: Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or a passwordless magic-link email. No password to create, no verification forms. Every new signup starts on the free Starter plan with 5 active dynamic QR codes, unlimited scans, 90-day analytics, no scan ads, and no credit card required.

Can I sign in with Google?

Yes — plus Microsoft, LinkedIn, and passwordless magic-link email. All four methods use industry-standard OAuth 2.0 or signed-token flows; no password ever touches QRLynx servers. Our login screen shows a "Last used" badge next to whichever method you signed in with previously, so you don't accidentally create a duplicate account via a different provider.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

QRLynx doesn't use passwords — signup and sign-in are passwordless. If you signed up with magic-link email, just enter your email at sign-in and click the link we send you. If you signed up with Google, Microsoft, or LinkedIn, your account security is managed by that provider — reset your password with them, then return to QRLynx and sign in again.

How do I delete my account?

Delete your account anytime from Account Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your QR codes, analytics, profile data, and billing history within 30 days, in line with GDPR Article 17 ("right to erasure"). Export your data first using Analytics → Export CSV if you want a backup. Deletion is irreversible.

Privacy & Security

How do you protect my data?

All data is encrypted in transit with TLS 1.3 and at rest with AES-256. QRLynx runs on Cloudflare's global network with DDoS protection, bot filtering, and Web Application Firewall. We never sell or share user data with third parties. Every dynamic QR destination URL is scanned against industry threat-intelligence services before storage. Full details in our Privacy Policy.

Can other people see my QR code analytics?

No — your QR code analytics are private to your account and visible only when you're logged in. QRLynx never shares individual user data or aggregated scan counts with third parties. On Business and Enterprise plans, you can grant read-only access to teammates via team workspaces with role-based permissions.

Do you store the content of my QR codes?

It depends on the type. Static QR codes: the destination is baked into the code image. Guest static codes are generated for immediate download, while saved static codes are stored in your dashboard so you can view and re-download them later. Dynamic QR codes: we store the destination URL because that's how the redirect works — edit or delete it anytime from your dashboard. All stored data is encrypted at rest with AES-256.

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

All personal data, QR codes, analytics, and billing history are permanently removed within 30 days — in line with GDPR Article 17. This action is irreversible, so export any data you want to keep first (Analytics → Export CSV). Dynamic QR codes stop redirecting the moment your account is deleted, so anyone who had your printed QRs will land on a friendly "Page no longer active" message.

Is QRLynx GDPR compliant?

Yes — QRLynx is fully GDPR compliant. We honor the right to access, export, correct, and erase user data (Articles 15–17). Cookie consent is enforced for EU visitors before any analytics fire. Data is processed on encrypted servers, never sold to third parties, and retained only as long as needed. Data Processing Agreements available for Business and Enterprise customers on request.

How do I contact customer support?

Reach support via the contact form or email support@qrlynx.com. Free-plan response: within 48 business hours. Paid-plan response: within 24 business hours. Business and Enterprise customers get priority queue with response targets inside 4–8 business hours. Urgent abuse reports (malicious or fraudulent QR codes) go to /report-abuse for faster review.

Brand & Identity

Is QRLynx the same as QRLynk or QRLinks?

No — three separate companies with unrelated technology and ownership. QRLynx (qrlynx.com) is a SaaS QR code generator operated by Jorbox LLC since 2024 — our core product. QRLynk (a-qr.link) is a separate company selling physical NFC wristbands, stickers, and phone cases on Amazon and Etsy. QRLinks is a small, unrelated QR service. No shared code, no shared staff, no affiliation.

Who founded QRLynx?

QRLynx was founded in 2024 by Ahmad Tayyem, CEO of Jorbox LLC — a software company he has run continuously since 2012. Headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. QRLynx is a registered entity on Wikidata (Q138655399), as is Jorbox LLC (Q138655727) and Ahmad Tayyem (Q138655748).

Why do QRLynx and QRLynk have such similar names?

The similar names are coincidental. QRLynx uses an x (as in the wildcat). QRLynk uses a k. The two companies independently chose names combining "QR" with a short word — QRLynx launched as SaaS software in 2024; QRLynk is a physical merchandise brand. Completely separate products, markets, ownership, and technology.
