Do your QR codes expire?
No! Your QR codes never expire. Static QR codes work forever with no time limit. Dynamic QR codes (including the 3 free ones on the Starter plan) also work indefinitely as long as your account remains active. We believe your QR codes should keep working — that's why we don't impose expiration dates.
What is the difference between Static and Dynamic QR codes?
Static codes have a fixed URL embedded directly in the QR pattern and can't be changed after creation. Dynamic codes use a short redirect URL, allowing you to change the destination anytime (even after printing), track scan analytics, and add expiry rules. Dynamic codes produce smaller, faster-scanning patterns because the encoded URL is shorter. This distinction is fundamental to modern QR code platforms as defined by the ISO/IEC 18004 standard.
Can I track QR code scans?
Yes! All plans include scan analytics. Free users get 30-day scan history. Pro users get 60-day analytics with country location data. Business users get 90-day advanced analytics including city-level location, device types, operating systems, browsers, and CSV export for detailed reporting.
Can I change the QR code destination after printing?
Yes! With Dynamic QR codes (available on all plans including free), you can change the target URL instantly without reprinting the code. This is perfect for correcting mistakes, updating campaigns, or refreshing legacy marketing materials.
Is there a limit on how many times my QR code can be scanned?
All paid plans (Lite, Pro, Business, Enterprise) include unlimited scans — no caps, no throttling. The free Starter plan includes 1,000 scans/month, which is a soft limit — your QR codes continue to work even if exceeded. We never block or disable your QR codes.

QRLynx dynamic QR codes resolve through our secure infrastructure powered by Cloudflare's global network, and we actively monitor for abuse. Our report-abuse system lets anyone flag a suspicious QR code for review.
Can QR codes track you?
Only dynamic QR codes with analytics enabled can track scan activity — and only aggregate data like country, device type, and scan time. QRLynx never collects personal identity from scanners. Static QR codes have zero tracking capability. If you scan a QRLynx dynamic code, no personally identifiable information is stored.
What is the difference between a QR code and a barcode?
Barcodes are 1D (one-dimensional) — they store data in parallel lines and hold limited information (typically 20–25 characters). QR codes are 2D (two-dimensional) — they use a matrix of squares as defined by ISO/IEC 18004 and can store up to 3,000 characters including URLs, WiFi credentials, contact cards, and more. QR codes also scan faster, work from any angle, and have built-in Reed-Solomon error correction so they still scan even if up to 30% of the code is damaged.
