How Should You Use WiFi QR Codes?
This QR type encodes its final data directly in the QR image. It opens the saved action without a managed redirect, and you create a new QR image whenever that data changes.
Best For
Fixed information and device actions that should open directly from the QR image, with no managed redirect between the scan and its result.
Not Best For
Cases where another QR type is more specific, such as PDF for files, vCard for contact saving, WiFi for network access, or menu QR for restaurant menus.

What QRLynx puts in a WiFi QR code
QRLynx creates a direct WIFI: text payload containing the SSID, selected security type, password, and hidden-network setting. It does not point to a QRLynx webpage. A compatible phone scanner reads those credentials and decides whether to offer a network connection.
The generator supports WPA/WPA2, WEP, and open networks. It also supports hidden SSIDs. QRLynx escapes backslashes, semicolons, commas, double quotes, and colons in the SSID and password so those characters remain part of the credential instead of being mistaken for field separators.
Because the credentials are stored directly in the QR, this page creates a static payload. QRLynx does not receive scan analytics from it, and changing the network name or password requires a new QR code.

A WiFi QR code is a convenient copy of network credentials, not a way to hide them. Anyone who can scan the printed code can decode its contents with a QR reader. Use a segmented guest network for customer, visitor, or rental placements, and keep staff or device-management networks separate.
The WIFI: convention is recognized by common mobile scanners, but the receiving phone controls the prompt and connection behavior. Test the exact final QR with the devices your guests use.
