How Should You Use Digital Business Card QR Codes?
This QR type uses a managed QRLynx link because its saved content or file cannot be embedded directly in a static QR. You can update the saved project without replacing the printed code and measure eligible scans.
Best For
Saved content or files that need a stable printed code, account-managed updates, and eligible scan analytics.
Not Best For
Cases where another QR type is more specific, such as PDF for files, vCard for contact saving, WiFi for network access, or menu QR for restaurant menus.
Before Printing
Test the final QR at real size, confirm the quiet zone, and use the size calculator when the code will appear on signs, packaging, menus, cards, or other printed material.
What QRLynx Creates
QRLynx creates a managed digital business card, not a static vCard QR payload. The QR image opens a QRLynx-hosted contact page where visitors can call, email, open your website, download a .vcf contact file, or use a supported wallet button.
Your saved card can include a first and last name, job title, company, three phone fields, email, website, address, short bio, profile photo, and brand color. Because the QR image points to the managed page, you can edit those saved details later without replacing the printed QR code.
What Your QRLynx Card Includes
A hosted contact page built for sharing and later updates
Hosted Contact Page
A mobile-friendly QRLynx page presents the contact details you choose to publish.
Save to Contacts
The page generates a vCard contact file from the current saved card details for the visitor to open in their contacts app.
Editable Details
Update the saved card in your QRLynx account while keeping the same managed QR destination.
Profile and Brand
Add a profile image, contact fields, a short bio, and a card color that fits your identity.
Wallet Options
Supported visitors can use the card page to start an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass flow.
Dynamic Scan Analytics
Eligible scans that reach the managed QRLynx redirect can appear in analytics. Detail and history depend on the account plan.
How to Create a Digital Business Card in QRLynx
Build, save, and test the complete contact journey
Choose Digital Business Card
Use the generator on this page. QRLynx selects the Digital Business Card type, which creates a managed hosted page rather than placing all contact data directly in the QR image.
Add the Details You Want to Share
Enter a first name, then add the relevant title, company, phone numbers, email, website, address, bio, photo, and brand color. Review every public field before saving.
Save the Card to Your Account
Sign in or create an account to save the hosted card and its managed QR destination. The free Starter plan includes up to 3 active dynamic QR codes.
Download and Test the QR Image
Download an included raster format, or use a plan that includes PDF and SVG export. Scan the exact file on iPhone and Android, open the hosted page, test each public action, and open the contact file before printing.
Digital Business Card or Static vCard QR Code?
Choose the QRLynx Digital Business Card when you want a hosted profile, editable details, a contact-download button, wallet options, and eligible dynamic-scan analytics. It requires an internet connection because the scanner opens the managed page.
Choose the static vCard QR generator when you want the contact payload encoded directly in the QR image. That QR can work without opening a QRLynx page, but changing the contact details requires a new QR image and direct static scans do not enter QRLynx analytics.
Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Phone Contacts
The hosted card can present a device-appropriate wallet action. QRLynx builds an Apple Wallet pass for the Apple route and a signed Google Wallet Generic Pass save link for the Google route. The visitor still reviews and completes the save in the wallet service.
A wallet pass and a phone contact are separate results. The Save to Contacts action provides a .vcf file for the contacts app. Wallet buttons start the relevant wallet flow. Availability can depend on the visitor's device, account, wallet support, and the configured QRLynx wallet service.
See the QRLynx wallet guide for the full recipient flow.
Useful Places to Share the Card
Match the placement to a clear contact action
Printed Business Cards
Add the tested QR image with a short label such as Scan to save my contact.
Email Signatures
Link the hosted card URL or add a compact QR image for recipients who want the full contact page.
Events and Name Badges
Give attendees a direct path to the current contact page without retyping details.
Team Contact Cards
Create a separate saved card for each person so names, roles, and contact details stay distinct.
Test the Real Contact Journey Before Printing
- Scan the final downloaded QR image, not only the browser preview.
- Confirm that the QRLynx-hosted page shows only the details you intended to publish.
- Test phone, email, website, map, and contact-download actions that appear on the card.
- Open the downloaded contact on the target phone and review how that contacts app imports each field.
- Test the wallet action on a supported device if wallet save is part of your handoff.
- Keep a four-module clear quiet zone around the printed QR symbol and test the physical proof at its real viewing distance.

QRLynx Digital Business Card Questions
Is the QRLynx digital business card free?
Yes. The free Starter plan can save a Digital Business Card as one of its 3 active dynamic QR codes. It includes unlimited scans, raster QR-image downloads, and a three-month analytics window. PDF and SVG QR-image exports start with Starter+.
Can I edit the card after printing its QR code?
Yes. Edit the saved Digital Business Card in QRLynx and keep the same managed QR destination. Test the public page after each material change.
Does the QR code contain my contact details directly?
No. This type prints a managed QRLynx destination that opens the hosted card. Use the static vCard QR type when you specifically want contact data encoded directly in the QR image.
What does Save to Contacts do?
It opens a generated vCard contact file based on the current saved card. The visitor's device and contacts app control the final import and may ask the visitor to confirm it.
Are Apple Wallet and Google Wallet the same as saving a contact?
No. Wallet actions start a wallet-pass flow, while Save to Contacts provides a vCard file for the contacts app. A visitor may choose either action when it is available.
Can QRLynx show who scanned my card?
QRLynx records eligible dynamic scans and reports aggregated analytics. It does not identify a person merely because they scanned or prove that they saved the contact. Location and device detail depend on the account plan.
Do visitors need a QRLynx account?
No. A visitor can open the public hosted card without a QRLynx account. Saving or editing the card itself requires the owner's QRLynx account.
What should I verify before sharing the card?
Review every public field, scan the downloaded QR image, test each link, open the contact file, and test the intended wallet action on supported devices. Repeat the check after changing important details.
