Change the link, keep the printed QR
Suppose a workshop flyer opens your registration page. After the workshop, you want the same flyer to open the presentation slides. Save the QR as dynamic before printing, then update that saved project’s destination when the slides are ready. The printed image stays the same.
This is one active QR project, even if you print the flyer many times. Use separate saved codes when you need different destinations or separate scan reporting. QRLynx’s free Starter plan gives you 3 active slots to work with.

How to create a free dynamic QR code in QRLynx
Start with your destination, save the editable version, then test the file you will print.
Enter your link and customize the design
Use Website / Link in the generator above. Enter the page you want people to open and check that it loads correctly on a phone.
Save it to your free account
Choose Save to Account (Save on mobile), then sign in or create a free Starter account. Use this save action so your generator draft follows you through signup. If you are already signed in, check that Dynamic URL is on before saving.
Confirm that the dynamic project is saved
Wait for the saved confirmation. If a naming dialog appears, use a name that identifies the placement or campaign. The saved dynamic QR uses a managed short link with your current destination.
Download and test the saved QR
Download the QR from the saved project. Scan that exact file and test a physical proof before printing or distributing it. Use the saved dynamic image, not an earlier static download.
Change the link or review scans later
Open the saved QR in your account to edit its destination or see scan analytics within the free three-month window. Keep that project active for the printed QR to continue working.
Unlimited scans and active-code capacity are different
Unlimited scans means QRLynx does not apply a plan-based monthly scan quota or overage fee. The free Starter plan has room for 3 active dynamic QR codes at the same time. Copies of one saved QR share that active slot; separate saved QR records use separate slots.
Deactivate an ordinary dynamic project you no longer need, delete it, or upgrade when more destinations must stay active together. Deactivating or deleting a project stops its printed dynamic QR from working, so keep codes active while their printed copies are still in use.

What changes on a paid plan
If you only need more active codes, Starter+ includes 50 for $7 per month or $70 per year, with one year of analytics, SVG artwork and Full AI Insights.
Pro adds dynamic bulk creation and campaign controls. Business adds deeper analytics, CSV export, teams, lead capture, email summaries and API access. Enterprise adds the highest limits, eligible custom domains, retargeting and analytics history without a fixed plan cap.

Is a QRLynx dynamic QR code really free?
Yes. The free QRLynx plan includes 3 active dynamic QR codes, unlimited scans, editable destinations, saved projects, and three months of analytics. No payment card is required for the free plan.
Do I need an account for a free dynamic QR code?
Yes. QRLynx needs an account to save the QR record, assign and maintain its managed short link, enforce active capacity, and attach analytics. Static QR generation can be used without an account.
Can I edit the destination after printing?
Yes, while the printed QR is the saved dynamic pattern and the project remains active. Update the destination in QRLynx and future scans use the same managed short link.
Are scans unlimited on the free plan?
Yes. QRLynx does not apply a plan-based monthly scan quota or overage fee. Active dynamic-code capacity and the three-month analytics window are separate limits.
Does a free dynamic QR code expire after a trial?
The free plan is not a timed trial. An ordinary dynamic QR does not expire only because of age or scan volume. It can still stop if it is deleted, deactivated, over a lower plan's active allowance, restricted for safety, or governed by a configured lifecycle rule.
What happens when I need more than the free active allowance?
Free capacity by deactivating an ordinary dynamic project you no longer need, or choose a paid plan with a larger active dynamic QR allowance and the features required by the campaign.
Can an already printed static QR become editable?
QRLynx cannot change the URL encoded inside an existing static QR image. Create and save a dynamic QR for future print runs, then download its new image. If you control the web page that the old static QR opens, you may still be able to update that page separately.
