Verify the full address before anyone sends Bitcoin

QRLynx places the value you enter after bitcoin:. It checks that the field is present, but it does not validate the address, identify its network, prove who owns it, or confirm that a wallet will accept it.

Copy a fresh receiving address from the intended wallet, verify the complete address and network before generating, scan the final QR with a compatible wallet, and compare the complete decoded address again before displaying it. Never enter a private key, seed phrase, recovery phrase, or wallet backup.

One receiving address

The generator accepts one Bitcoin receiving-address value supplied by you.

Address-only bitcoin: URI

The encoded payload is <code>bitcoin:<entered-address></code>. A compatible wallet decides how to interpret it.

The payment payload is stored directly in the QR. QRLynx does not place a managed redirect between the scanner and the wallet URI.

Use the receiving flow in the wallet that should control the funds. Confirm the intended Bitcoin network and follow the wallet's address-management guidance.

Voluntary tips and donations

Share a verified receiving address where the payer chooses the amount in a compatible wallet and the surrounding context clearly identifies the recipient.

Merchant information

Display a verified address only when the merchant has a separate process for quoting the BTC amount, checking payment status, confirmations, refunds, taxes, and accounting.

Invoices with a separate amount

Use the QR as the address field while stating the exact amount, unit, expiry, and reference separately. The current QR will not prefill those details.

Events and communities

Provide a clearly labeled receiving address for optional contributions after verifying that attendees will use the intended Bitcoin network.

The QR does not process or observe the Bitcoin payment

QRLynx generates the static QR image and does not receive the Bitcoin, hold keys, submit the transaction, calculate the network fee, set the amount, monitor the blockchain, confirm payment, or identify the payer. The wallet chosen by the scanner interprets the bitcoin: URI and lets the payer review and authorize the transaction.

Bitcoin payment status must be verified independently using the receiving wallet or a payment system you control. Network conditions, wallet behavior, fees, confirmation timing, exchange rates, refunds, tax treatment, and legal obligations remain outside the QR image.

What does the QRLynx Bitcoin QR code contain?

It contains bitcoin: followed by the Bitcoin address value entered in the form. The current generator does not add an amount, label, message, Lightning invoice, payment request, or watch-only wallet data.

Does QRLynx validate the Bitcoin address?

No. The current form checks only that a value is present. It does not validate syntax, network, ownership, checksum behavior, or wallet compatibility. Verify the complete address using the source wallet and a compatible receiving workflow.

Can I include a Bitcoin amount in this QR?

Not with the current QRLynx Bitcoin form. BIP-21 supports an optional amount in decimal BTC, but this generator currently creates the address-only bitcoin: URI.

Can I add a label or payment message?

Not with the current form. BIP-21 defines optional label and message parameters, but QRLynx currently does not add them to its Bitcoin payload.

Does this create a Lightning QR code?

No. This page creates an on-chain Bitcoin address URI. It does not generate or validate a Lightning invoice or add a Lightning parameter.

Is it safe to share a Bitcoin receiving address?

A receiving address is intended to receive funds, but publishing it can create privacy and operational considerations. Share only an address supplied by the intended wallet. Never share a private key, seed phrase, recovery phrase, or wallet backup.

Can I change the address after printing?

No. This Bitcoin QR is static and contains the address directly. To use a different address, generate and distribute a new QR, then retire or remove the old material as appropriate.

Can QRLynx tell me whether someone paid?

No. QRLynx does not process or monitor the Bitcoin transaction and this static QR has no QRLynx scan analytics. Verify payments, amounts, fees, and confirmations independently in the receiving wallet or payment system.

Can a scan send Bitcoin automatically?

No. A compatible wallet may open and prefill the address. The payer must review the complete destination, amount, fee, and network details, then authorize the transaction in the wallet.

Is the Bitcoin address QR generator free?

How should I test the final QR?
