How Should You Use Location QR Codes?
This QR type encodes its final data directly in the QR image. It opens the saved action without a managed redirect, and you create a new QR image whenever that data changes.
Best For
Fixed information and device actions that should open directly from the QR image, with no managed redirect between the scan and its result.

What QRLynx puts in a Location QR code
QRLynx encodes a direct geo: URI, such as geo:40.7128,-74.006. If you add a location name, QRLynx includes the same coordinates and a percent-encoded label in the query, such as geo:40.7128,-74.006?q=40.7128,-74.006(Entrance).
The QR contains the coordinates themselves, not a Google Maps URL, address lookup, or QRLynx redirect. RFC 5870 defines the core geographic URI syntax. The scanning device decides whether it recognizes the payload, which mapping app opens, and what directions or offline features are available.
How to create a Location QR code with QRLynx
Choose verified coordinates, encode the direct location payload, and test the result in the real scanning environment.
Confirm the destination coordinates
Obtain the latitude and longitude for the exact entrance, meeting point, parking area, trailhead, or other intended position. QRLynx does not geocode a street address on this form.
Enter latitude and longitude
Paste the decimal coordinates into their fields. Check the sign carefully because north and east are positive, while south and west are negative.
Add an optional location name
Use a short label that helps identify the point. Display and interpretation of that label vary by scanner and mapping application.
Customize for the placement
Use strong contrast, preserve the quiet zone, and place a clear instruction beside the code, such as Scan for the venue entrance.

Choose the location format that matches the job
A Location QR code stores coordinates directly. A provider URL is a different payload with different behavior.

Coordinate, device, and navigation boundaries
The accuracy of this QR is the accuracy of the coordinates you enter. QRLynx stores the supplied text in the geo: payload. It does not measure the site, correct a misplaced pin, or guarantee a physical accuracy radius.
A compatible scanner may pass the URI to an installed mapping application. App selection, label display, map availability, route calculation, live traffic, accessibility directions, and offline navigation belong to the receiving device and provider. Test the code on the devices your audience is likely to use.
This Location QR is a direct static payload. Saving it to a QRLynx account preserves the project, but the printed coordinates cannot be changed remotely and QRLynx does not record scan analytics for this type. If the point may change after printing, use a dynamic URL QR code that leads to a location page or provider link you can update.

What does a QRLynx Location QR code contain?
It contains a direct geo URI built from the latitude and longitude you enter, plus an optional percent-encoded location label. It does not contain a street address lookup or a QRLynx redirect.
Will every phone open the same maps app?
No. The scanner, operating system, installed applications, user settings, and URI support determine what happens. Test representative iPhone and Android devices instead of promising one app or identical behavior.
Can QRLynx convert an address into coordinates?
The current Location form accepts latitude, longitude, and an optional location name. Obtain and verify the coordinates before entering them. Use a Google Maps or URL QR when you already have a provider share link.
Does the optional label always appear?
QRLynx includes the label in the generated payload, but scanners and mapping applications can interpret or display it differently. Keep it short and confirm the result on the intended devices.
Can I change the coordinates after printing?
No. The coordinates are encoded directly in this static QR. Changing them requires a new QR and a reprint. Use a dynamic URL QR linked to an editable location page when the destination may move.
Does QRLynx track Location QR scans?
No. This type uses a direct geo payload, so the scan does not pass through a QRLynx redirect. A dynamic URL QR can provide QRLynx scan analytics when measurement is part of the campaign.
Does a Location QR work offline?
The coordinates are present in the QR and can be decoded without a QRLynx connection. Loading a map, calculating a route, or navigating offline depends on the receiving app and any map data already stored on the device.
How should I test the final code?
Decode the exported artwork and a physical proof. Compare the latitude and longitude with the intended point, confirm any label, and test the mapping and directions handoff on representative devices before printing at scale.
