Frequently Asked Questions about Email Summaries
Everything you need to know about automated QR code reporting.
How do I receive automated QR code analytics via email?
In your QRLynx dashboard, go to Account Settings and enable Email Summaries. Choose your preferred frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly). QRLynx will automatically send you a summary of scan activity across all your QR codes — including total scans, unique visitors, top-performing codes, and geographic breakdown.
What specific metrics are included in the email summary report?
Each email report includes: total scans and unique visitors for the period, scans by QR code (top performers highlighted), geographic breakdown (top countries and cities), device breakdown (iOS vs Android), scan trends (compared to previous period), and any codes that reached scan limits or are about to expire.
Can I customize the frequency of the QR code reports?
Yes. QRLynx offers daily, weekly, and monthly email summary options. Daily reports are useful during active campaigns. Weekly summaries work well for ongoing QR deployments. Monthly reports provide a high-level overview for management reporting. You can change the frequency anytime in your account settings.
Do I need to log in to the dashboard to view my statistics?
No — that is the main benefit of email summaries. You receive your scan analytics directly in your inbox without logging in. However, the dashboard offers more detailed analytics including real-time scan data, individual scan logs, heatmaps, and CSV export capabilities that are not included in the email summary.
Is the Email Summary feature available for all QR code types?
Email summaries report on all dynamic QR codes in your account, regardless of type (URL, PDF, vCard, social media, etc.). Static QR codes are not included because they do not have scan tracking. The feature is available on Starter+ ($7/month) and higher plans.
How does automated reporting help with marketing campaign optimization?
Email summaries let you spot trends without manual dashboard checks. You can quickly identify which QR codes are performing well, which locations generate the most scans, and whether scan volume is increasing or decreasing. This helps you make data-driven decisions about where to place QR codes and when to refresh campaigns.
Can I share QR code reports with my team?
Yes. If you are on the Business plan ($29/month) or Enterprise plan ($99/month), you can add team members who each receive their own email summaries. You can also forward the email reports to stakeholders. For more formal reporting, export detailed analytics data as CSV from the dashboard.
What is the best metric to track in QR code reports?
The most important metric depends on your goal. For awareness campaigns, track total scans and unique visitors. For conversion campaigns, track the ratio of scans to actions (click-through from the landing page). For location strategy, track scans by city to see which physical placements perform best.
Can I receive reports for specific QR codes only?
Email summaries currently cover all dynamic QR codes in your account. To monitor specific campaigns, organize your QR codes into folders — the dashboard lets you filter analytics by folder. You can also set up individual QR code alerts that notify you when specific codes reach scan milestones.
How quickly do scan statistics appear in email reports?
Scan data is processed in near-real-time through QRLynx analytics pipeline. Daily email summaries include all scans from the previous 24-hour period. There is typically less than a 5-minute delay between a scan occurring and the data being available in the system.
