How does the online image compressor work?
The tool decodes and processes images in your browser using canvas-based image processing. It does not upload the image files to QRLynx for compression. Choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP output and compare formats for your use case.
Can I compress multiple images at once?
Yes. Select or drag and drop multiple images to process a batch. Each input file must be 100 MiB or smaller, and very large batches may be limited by your device's available memory.
What is the best image format for SEO?
Choose the format your site can serve well. This tool exports JPEG, PNG, and WebP. A smaller image may help a page load faster, but measure the page with PageSpeed Insights before attributing a Core Web Vitals or search change to one image.
What file formats are supported for compression?
You can select JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, or GIF images as inputs when your browser can decode them. The output choices are JPEG (JPG), PNG, and WebP. AVIF and GIF inputs default to WebP output, and the final size depends on the image and your settings.
Does this tool preserve background transparency?
Choose PNG or WebP output when your image needs transparency. JPEG output has no transparency and this tool fills transparent areas with white. Check the preview before downloading, especially when converting an AVIF or GIF input.
Can this tool export AVIF or GIF?
No. You can import AVIF or GIF when your browser can decode the file, then export JPEG, PNG, or WebP. This tool does not currently export AVIF or animated GIF.
Will compression ruin my photo quality?
JPEG and WebP quality settings can change visible detail. The highest PNG setting skips palette quantization; lower settings reduce the color palette. Compare the result with the original and adjust the slider for your image.
Are there any file size limits for uploads?
Each input file must be 100 MiB or smaller. The tool processes supported image formats in your browser, and your device's available memory may limit large images or batches further. Camera RAW files are not listed among the supported inputs.
How do compressed images improve website speed?
A smaller image file can reduce transfer size. Whether it improves Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) depends on how that image is served and rendered on the page. Measure the page before and after replacing an image rather than assuming a ranking change.
